We analyzed how youth has limited access to resources, healthcare, education, accommodation, employment and decision-making processes. The rhythm of life is high and the culture is increasingly individualistic, so young people are at risk to be marginalized and tend to play a passive role in their communities. Young people with fewer opportunities are even more vulnerable. This context has a negative impact in young people’s quality of life, autonomy and levels of social inclusion. We observed that even if social rights and social inclusion of youth are stated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Convention of the Righ ts of the Child, the European Convention of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedom or the European Social Charter, young people don’t know how to use these legal documents to be able to defend their social rights. As a consequence, ignoring their own rights and the rights of others, young people turn to discriminate and be discriminated. The project addressed these issues in order to equip young people with tools to enable them to improve their lives and contribute to an inclusive society. Aim of the project was to promote Human Rights Education as an effective tool for social rights and inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities. The main objectives of the project were: - To support cooperation and communication process among young people with fewer opportunities living in different European overseas countries; - To get familiar with the main principles of general human rights and human rights education as an effective tool in the field of social rights and social inclusion; - To contribute to the improvement of participants and understanding of the situation of social inclusion of young people in communities and access to social rights in the represented communities of the; - To provide a space for participants for realizing and analyzing personal, common dignity and indignity; - To get familiar with elements of hate speech and no hate speech towards social inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities; - To provide young people with an opportunity to present their culture, learn about others and share their specific attitudes; We thought that this was the time now for the youth to engage itself and commit to become the new generation of leaders in our communities, in our countries. Whatever you do - or may not do- impacts your environment! We are all part of a community and responsible for the people living with us. Inclusion and participation are not just slogans but key concepts to build a bottom up democracy. We need to challenge the economic recession and to put in place a new political approach, a more inclusive one. Through the project reached young people who have Economical, Geographical, and Social obstacles. As their needs are different but one of the main need what we would’ve like to tackle was the need of proper education, to give them opportunity to have an access to the information. As non-formal education is one of the best ways for the target group to make them think about their role in society and in their communities. We wanted to support their integration process through non-formal education settings by raising awareness about Social Rights and Social Inclusion. As their needs, to have an access to a proper education, is very wide and we wish to increase their responsibility towards social rights and social inclusion, to share with them our experience, to show them new possibilities and opportunities.
