What we wished to accomplish with this project is as mentioned previously, which is recruitment to our school and the healthcare childhood, and youth development sector. We want more students to apply to this vocational education program and that the project will contribute to an increased rate of completion and achievement. We wish to increase the quality of education within the vocational classes and social studies by offering mobility. Increased intercultural understanding, self-knowledge, and comprehension are important for students that will go out in the healthcare sector, and this project will significantly help contribute to this.
Agder county municipality has a long-standing tradition in international work and their overarching goal is to become more attractive, sustainable, innovative, competitive, open, inclusive, and educative. The teachers here teaching healthcare, childhood and youth development have applied for this project because we believe it is important regarding the number of applicants to our school and for our vocational recruitment towards the healthcare sector. Norway needs more healthcare workers in the years to come and hope that more of our students will choose a vocational education before they possibly continue onwards with higher education, which is not the current trend. We are a rural school, and this project keeps students here in Vennesla rather than applying to larger schools in the inner city. The project has been positive regarding our applicant numbers. We want students that are searching for and open to new cultures and ethnicities and that can exchange experiences and teach one another.
