Objectives

Through an internship, students and teachers will gain experience with working life and school life in a new and different context. This will be of great importance to the individual student as they will gain invaluable experience that they can bring into everyday school life and later into their own professional life. Teachers will experience other methods of teaching as well as gain insight into a workday that is different from one's own, but which will contribute to learning and development. Teachers and students will gain experiences that they can take back to their own school and workplace and share with others. In this way, the culture will change for the better and we will have better teachers and a more interesting school day, which in turn will lead to increased application to our school.

Background

Intake grades are quite low at our school, however our records show that we are mostly successful in assisting students in getting passing grades and completing high school. Nevertheless, our wish is that even more students will complete their course of study and be good workers. To achieve this it is important to have a strategic plan for improvement that guides us in forward development. In our strategic plan, we have focused on the professional relevance of general studies in both vocational and common subjects. This project has been in focus since 2012 and we have seen positive results, showing an increase in graduating students in vocational studies. For further improvement we want to go one step further. We would like to collaborate with international contacts in hopes of bettering learning and experience.
