Objectives

A main aim of the project has been to give the students an experience that we could not offer at school. This applies to work deployment, an international experience, the opportunity to see how a working life works in another country, how animal welfare and animal ethics are practiced in another country as well as how a stable is run in Spain. For the school, we want to profile that we have international projects where students have the opportunity to have a stay abroad during their studies. We believe that this can increase interest in vocational education.

Background

The starting point was that the old Østfold County Council wanted the schools to get involved in international work. We then looked for opportunities that could be interesting for our fields of study. We had a former horse teacher, who had moved to Spain, and had a number of contacts there. She made contact with a stable that engaged in horse tourism, and we established this contact and sought funding for a project together with this stable. Unfortunately, they had problems during the corona era, but were benevolent and passed on contact to the Elite Andalusians with whom we have carried out this project. The purpose of the project has been from the outset to give the students an experience that we could not give them at school.
