Background

The project school partners, wanted to learn how to teach Citizenship, using digital tools to create animations. We wanted to develop the concept of Citizenship among our students, because Citizenship encourages students to become actively involved in the democratic life of their community and their country. It prepares them to become responsible citizens, able to participate in democratic processes in an informed and considered way. By developing these values, students contribute to building a more just and equitable society. By developing their sense of citizenship, students learn the importance of contributing to the well-being of the community and making a positive difference to the world around them. Cartoons reach a wide audience: children, adults and young people alike. The key message is easily identifiable and conveyed in a fun and attractive, and there is an emotional value that encourages the retention of information. Cartoons simplify concepts that may be perceived as complex by using simple, concrete situations, and allow students to unleash their creativity. This offers a unique opportunity to approach citizenship in a creative way, encouraging artistic expression and empowering educators as well as students.
