Background

Erasmus+ projects at ZSEiI in Sosnowiec have been implemented regularly for 20 years. Each project brings new experiences, but is also a reason to verify the school's needs, also in terms of training teaching staff. The influx of foreign students to Poland, including to the Silesian-Dabrowa Basin, is gaining momentum. The war in Ukraine has intensified this process. Schools are not prepared to accept these pupils and to provide them with equal opportunities to gain an education and enter the labour market. War refugees from Ukraine have turned up at our school in large numbers. These students have joined existing classes. Our task is to create intercultural classes in which foreigners feel comfortable, but our students also benefit from the richness of other cultures. Observing the situation in the country, the problems in our school and in schools with a similar profile led us to make a proposal. The school management, class teachers and those coordinating the school's recruitment process all got involved in the project. Experience from previous projects has shown that it is worthwhile to train with specialists from a country that has more experience. Hence the idea for the project in partnership with the institution Euroform.
