The aims of the project were to raise the level of English and German among our teachers, to increase their knowledge of new teaching methods nad methodology and to introduce English into science lessons. The most important thing for foreign language teachers was to refresh their methodology and language skills, as well as to acquire new, modern teaching materials to use in their classes. We hope that our students will use the same teaching materials and IT tools that other European students use. Another goal of the project was to acquire international contacts, to promote tolerance for all diversity in the classroom and in society, and to teach academic subjects within the framework of CLIL.
Our school has more than 160 years of tradition and is one of the best schools in the city, we take pride in our students' very good results on final exams and multi-subject competitions. Our teachers are highly motivated and qualified. They are interested in gaining new qualifications and expanding their knowledge. They are examiners who focus on preparing their students for the best possible exam results. Our students are often very intelligent and talented, although sometimes they get tired of traditional teaching methods. We applied for this project so that we could take advantage of new trends in methodology and respond to changes in our students and in the developing world. Our teachers and head teachers have had the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills and broaden their professional horizons. In doing so, our teachers have become more respected, our schools more international, and our educational content more appealing. We have sought to give teachers more credibility in the eyes of students and parents. Learning about the education system and sharing experiences with colleagues from other countries is very refreshing and helps prevent burnout at work. We also wanted to meet new colleagues for future projects.
