Objectives

The main aim was to strengthen the 4 competences (4Cs: cooperation, creativity, critical thinking & communication) among the students & teachers. That aim was divided into detailed aims using the SMART methodology (described in details in the application, realised in the course of the project): 1. developing 4Cs knowledge & skills and introducing them into everyday work 2. developing, performing & evaluating at least 1 lesson plan (each teacher) concerning 4Cs cempetences (using tasks attractive to students, i.e. active methods, ICT, PBL etc.) 3. developing with the students aims & plans of the students' union & voluntary work, performing the set tasks for the school & local community 4. preparing & running creativity workshops for kids & seniors 5. practising at least 1 task from the curriculum (each teacher) requiring students' information searching, analysing, solution finding, presenting their actions in a creative form 6. preparing a plan & running a communication & cooperation workshop for students

Background

Detailed needs' analysis (based on internal evaluation, students' questionnaires & essays, interviews with school councellor, psychologist, teachers, headmasters, students and SWOT analysis of the school) done before applying showed a few areas for improvement: Development of key competences: - cooperation - creativity - verbal & non-verbal communication and active listening - logical & critical thinking - ICT skills. We decided that developing, implementing, evaluation & dissemination of the project may increase the teachers' skills in the area of shaping & motivating the students to develop and hence, to improve the students' competences in the aforementioned areas. Having analysed the needs & true possibilities of the school the project team developed the initial plan & application, which was analysed whether it is consistent with the school's needs & poosiblities. We decided that it does, hence we applied hoping to be able to realise it.
