Background

Education requires qualified staff and quality work. Our teachers broaden their qualifications, but their language competences do not meet the expectations and requirements of today. Opening the course of aviation mechanic technician in ZST requires knowledge of English. We need to improve language competences of the staff, this will help gain specific knowledge in languages, exchange experiences, prepare materials for students. The ICT technology is important, which is why we selected courses so that they also develop these skills. Opening the school and motivating projects is part of the school work programme. Students should be prepared for European activity. Intercultural competences should be strengthened in order to raise citizens open to EU challenges when students of a different nationality appear at school. Contacts with foreign institutions are important, which will strengthen participation in the project. Two English teachers chose methodological courses with elements of ICT, four chose language training, strengthening intercultural competences and cultural heritage. Conversations in English enriched the participants' vocabulary, improved accent, increased fluency of speech, and improved language competences.
