Our main goal was to increase the European dimension of our school through active realisation of the KA1 and KA2 projects and through participation of many teachers in them. The transnational mobilities were supposed to give their participants the opportunity to learn languages and also to give them knowledge and motivation to write their own Erasmus+ projects for the students of our school. We wanted to multiply international contacts with foreign schools to import good solutions from other countries to our school. The TA and JS mobilities were intended to be an opportunity to share our foreign languages teaching experience as well as to learn about teaching lanugages in large groups of students. We also wanted to add one more foreign language - Spanish to our school offer, which should increase the attractiveness of our institution. Two English teachers were to update their methodological knowlegde which they would share with all the teaching staff.
We are a school with many years of traditions, enjoying a good reputation among students and parents, implementing many projects, including international, but we lacked international activities in which all the teachers would participate not only foreign languages teachers. Many school staff members show a great desire for professional development and international contacts, but they feel limited by insufficient knowledge of English. We decided that the urgent need for our school is to increase the language competences of its employees. The school management, director, deputy director and personnel manager should become active participants in exchange and international projects to effectively support teachers and students. Subject teachers should increase their competences of communication in English, which is the main language of communication during the implementation of all projects. We also believe that direct contacts with schools from other countries, exchange of good practices and mutual sharing of experiences give us a chance for the best development.
