Objectives

By implementing the project, we wanted to equip our staff with competencies that would allow them to work more effectively with young people aged 13-15, an age group they had not dealt with before. Such individualization of work methods and appropriate selection of tools were intended to ensure equal access to our educational offer, good learning results and reduce the risk of educational failure. We wanted to take care of the well-being of the youngest students. We wanted them to quickly acclimatize to school, integrate with the school environment and demonstrate an attitude of active involvement in school initiatives. Thanks to the educational work of our teachers using the methods we have learned, we wanted to minimize disciplinary problems and anti-social behavior typical of this age group. Our goal has always been to invest in the development of professional competences of our employees. We want them to constantly develop new methodological skills and improve their language skills and strengthen their personal competences. Through visits to partner schools, we wanted our management staff to have the opportunity to learn practical solutions and procedures.

Background

We are a school that has been implementing EU projects for years, and we see significant benefits they bring to our school environment and the local community. Every year, the quality of our school's work, the competencies of our staff, and the students' results improve. Therefore, we have no doubt that each subsequent project is a tremendous opportunity for all of us. After diagnosing the school's needs, the teaching staff together with the school management identified the necessity to acquire new skills in working with younger students who were to enter our school as a result of educational reforms and the closure of middle schools. Teachers felt a lack of preparation both in teaching methods and in educational approaches that correspond to the developmental needs of students after primary school. Already prepared for the structural changes in education, we knew that to ensure high-quality education for new students and to make the school environment welcoming for them, we needed to expand our competencies in many aspects. Foreign courses and observing the work of European schools were an ideal opportunity for us to acquire contemporary and up-to-date knowledge as well as practical skills
