The main objective of the project was to enable selected teachers to improve their skills effectively communication through practical learning of the English language. All courses were conducted in a foreign language. Another aim of the project was to make the participants aware that communication is not limited only to translating expressions from the native language into a foreign language, but on effective transmission without distorting the intention the sender and understanding the meaning of the information. In addition to language skills, the project put special emphasis on soft skills - especially related to social and personal development, the ability to work in a group or organize one's own time and study. The next goal was also to popularize our own activities; coordinators wanted to go beyond documenting activities solely by taking photos and posting them on the school's fan page, but more active ways of keeping your own experience in the form of a film, presentation, slideshow, instastory or blog.
The European School Development Plan developed for 2020-2024 assumed the development of international cooperation and professional development in an international environment of both students and teaching staff. One of the main assumptions of the plan, as well as the motivation to apply in the Erasmus + application competition, is to expand the school's activities within the AEHT, i.e. the European Association of Hotel and Tourism Schools based in Luxembourg. Another of our motivations was the desire to develop the language competences of students and employees by enabling them to learn a foreign language abroad and additional language education at school. Moreover, communication was an aim in itself. The European School Development Plan also planned activities aimed at getting to know the foreign tourist market, in order to acquire new partners in the field of foreign internships or to develop cooperation with other educational institutions, so expanding the offer of apprenticeships was another aspiration. As project coordinator, I had a need to develop ICT skills in order to disseminate the results.
