Objectives

The main objectives of the project were to achieve higher language competences in English and Spanish. We prepared our teachers to introduce classes with expanded English and bilingualism. It was particularly important to improve preschool and early school education teachers so that the acquired skills would allow them to introduce English vocabulary during integrated classes. Creating a linguistic background in Spanish increased interest in the language. Increased multicultural awareness will broaden horizons. Getting to know innovative methods and forms of work resulted in better use of the school base and its retrofitting. Preventing unfavourable social and developmental phenomena by working in an international environment is another important objective. By promoting appropriate attitudes and models, the school prevents early school leaving and demoralisation. Involving students in the implementation of these projects will increase their self-esteem, motivation to learn a foreign language and develop entrepreneurship.

Background

The implementation of the project "We for Europe - Europe for us" was a continuation of the activities started in 2015 towards the European development of the school. We included its assumptions in the School's European Development Plan and constantly modified it according to the changing reality. We were keen to develop linguistic diversity. In this project, Spanish, which is the second language taught in our school, was introduced for the first time. Learning about the cultural, linguistic and geographical diversity of Europe was also an important aspect. Improving the quality of our work was a constant theme in our project plans and activities. We took into account the need to develop innovative methods and the digital development of the school. We also implemented the principles of inclusive pedagogy. The school's facilities needed to be retrofitted, and the use of existing equipment was not always complete. The most important reason for undertaking the project and its implementation was undoubtedly to encourage pupils to cooperate internationally, to show them good examples of the beauty of the surrounding world and the potential of each person.
