Objectives

Through the implementation of the project, we wanted to reduce the generation gap and improve student-teacher communication by enhancing the qualifications of the staff, increasing competence and language skills in order to involve more teachers in the organization and the course of projects and the introduction of bilingual classes. Getting to know specialized programs, applications and platforms that will be systematically used to conduct interesting and innovative lessons that will make students willingly and actively participate in all activities. Through the implementation of Job Shadowing, we will learn about the working methods of schools in European countries and innovative learning systems in P.E. and English lessons, as well as improve the work of the management and the school office. In relation to students, we wanted to give students the opportunity to learn in bilingual classes and prepare them for conscious, responsible and creative use of information and communication technologies (ICT), as well as encourage students to take responsibility for personal development and lifelong learning

Background

The diagnosis we conducted among the teachers of our school showed that as many as 43% of teachers felt the effects of professional burnout and wanted to fight them, a significant part (73% ) of the teaching staff needed to improve their competence in modern information and digital technologies, and almost all ( 89% ) wanted to improve their language competence. Most of the teaching staff were 45+ teachers, who realized that the old teaching methods they were using were ineffective. They also did not use modern information technologies, as a result of which students were often bored, demotivated and consequently missed lessons, as proves the very low and steadily declining attendance of ZSB students in their subjects. Therefore, in order to respond to the needs of teachers who were aware of their deficiencies and felt a strong need to develop and improve themselves, we wanted to support them by giving them the opportunity to participate in workshops on how to effectively fight and cope with professional burnout, and a course on modern information technology
