We wanted to introduce latest educational methods, enrich our educational base, and elevate teachers' professional, personal, and social competences. The main aim of the project was to get to know STEAM and Outdoor method and be able to implement it during our lessons in varied level classes trying to individualise the learning process. Especially with students having learning difficulties, central hearing loss, hard of hearing, childhood autism, risk of dyslexia or developmental disorders and deviations. By implementing the methods, we planned to motivate students to work and increase their self- development. The teachers wanted to get to conduct lessons in a fresh way, away from a student’s desk. One of the main aims of the project was mastering the basic and cross-sectional skills by our students which is necessary in their further education and professional lives.
We are a small, peripheral school located in Upper Silesia. Due to poor public transport connection with Rybnik, situated 15 km away, our students are often not aware of the possibilities that a big city can provide. We frequently noticed that they didn't use their potential and they lacked the motivation to work. Therefore, our main goal was broadly defined international cooperation which would be their window to the world. We wanted to improve the standard of teaching by exchanging experiences with teachers, verifying them, and implementing them in our school. Keeping in mind the foundations included in the school documents, as well as the needs and goals set up in our European Development Plan, we framed the aims of the project “Nature Busters – Outdoor and STEAM education”.
