The project aimed to improve the quality of teachers' education and in-service training, increase mobility, develop linguistic and digital competences, enrich teachers' workshops with innovative methods, improve educational management skills and counteract professional burnout. Teachers' working methods were to be enriched through the introduction of mindfulness techniques when working with students, especially when working with students with learning difficulties. The project also aimed to enhance teachers' knowledge of modern teaching methods that promote diversity and tolerance in the classroom and can better integrate foreigners into school life. Another aim was to enrich teachers with new tools and working techniques to work more effectively with students, especially those with learning difficulties, and to prevent them from dropping out of school. All of these goals were aimed at creating a more open and friendly learning environment, fostering the development of students and promoting diversity in the school.
The school decided to implement the project for several key reasons. Through the use of mindfulness techniques, teachers wanted to support pupils' learning by improving concentration, calming pupils and therefore processing information better. Mindfulness training provided an opportunity for both students and teachers. A considerable challenge for the school was to work in a multicultural classroom. The plan was to learn from the experiences of institutions in other countries and to use methods and tools to prevent discrimination and prejudice, to help integrate foreigners into school life and to develop a system of care and psychological support for new students. We also wanted to learn about the Finnish education system in order to follow the example of Finnish schools to improve the management of the institution and increase the quality of the work of the whole team.
