Through the implementation of the MARS project, we wanted our school to provide young people with a more interesting educational offer, establish international cooperation. We wanted teachers to improve their professional competences, start using ICT tools, CLIL methodology and Mindfulness more often. Thanks to the introduction of activating methods of work with the use of modern technologies, classes gain in attractiveness, and young people absorb knowledge faster and we can observe a decreasing technological distance between teachers and young people. Through contact with foreigners, getting to know and understanding other cultures, the experience gained from stays abroad allows the lessons to be given an interdisciplinary and intercultural dimension. Thanks to new initiatives undertaken by teachers, we wanted to encourage students to get involved in projects and take advantage of a greater offer of extracurricular activities. The priority is to prepare young people for contacts with peers from other European Union countries, motivate them to learn foreign languages intensively, and open up to other cultures and nations.
Through the implementation of the project – MARS, we wanted to respond to the needs of our school: - By participating in courses, raise the level of teachers' qualifications in the use of modern technologies, in order to make lessons more attractive, increase the motivation of young people to learn and improve the quality of work at school. - Introduce activating teaching methods, creative techniques both in school and extracurricular activities, in order to encourage students to be more involved. - Increase teachers' competence in communicating in foreign languages, encourage the use of foreign-language sources, create opportunities for cooperation with teachers from European schools and exchange experiences. - Familiarize teachers with the CLIL methodology, and thus initiate the introduction of content in a foreign language (e.g. mathematics) in the lessons. - Support students in ways of coping with stress, implement modern trends with mindfulness by a pedagogue. - Initiate a platform for the exchange of experience among teachers, practice soft skills, create a cooperating, harmonious team, give our school a European character and prepare new projects under Erasmus+.
