Objectives

Through the implementation of the project we wanted 60 participants of OHP training in the professions of chef and hairdresser to gain international work experience through learning new methods of work, in a different culture and country, overcoming language barriers through the need to communicate in a foreign language, improving self-esteem through acquiring new skills and the implementation of vocational training at foreign employers, which will increase the competitiveness of OHP participants in the labour market. An analysis of the occupational barometer, which was carried out prior to the development of the project proposal, showed the occupations of chef and hairdresser as deficit occupations, while OHP participants studying in these occupations have difficulties in finding a job due to lack of experience in an independent position and insufficient practical skills. Through the project's foreign internships, we wanted OHP participants to be able to train according to European standards and increase their chances on the European labour market. The aim of the project was also for OHP staff accompanying the young people to acquire new knowledge and to use it in their professional work. We wanted as an organisation to become a modern and attractive institution for young people.

Background

The reason for applying for funds for the project was to perceive the need for additional activities increasing the employability of OHP participants resulting in better passing of vocational exams, gaining international experience, introducing in OHP a permanent element of transnational mobility in the field of vocational education. OHP participants do not have the opportunity to benefit from trips to placements abroad due to lower grades in school, environmental negligence and their dysfunctions. Through the project we wanted to equalise the chances of our participants on the labour market by participating in mobility abroad, so that they could gain new international experience which they do not have access to during their school education. As an organisation we wanted to develop international cooperation, increase our experience and quality of activities. We wanted to improve our educational offer by complementing it with education according to European standards. A SWOT analysis of our organisation showed that a weak point was insufficient language skills among participants and staff. We also wanted to change this through the participation of OHP participants and mentors in the mobility abroad.
