Objectives

The project was implemented in order to enable the acquisition of personal and professional competences by students and graduates of ZST in Strzyżów, to prepare them to take up employment in their learned profession and to effectively seek employment both on the local and foreign labour markets. The implementation of the project led to closer and better cooperation with German institutions and enterprises, the exchange of information and experience. Acquired knowledge, professional skills, fluent use of a professional foreign language, as well as obtained certificates, give the students of ZST in Strzyżów an advantage in the labour market and encourage an enterprising attitude and taking the initiative in their future professional life. Such an experience, from a professional perspective, strengthens the position on both the national and European labour markets. The implementation of the project also provides an opportunity to develop in the local environment an image of the school as a friendly institution, which can meet students and parents' needs promoting at the same time cultural awareness among the local community.

Background

The school's experience indicates that students and graduates of ZST, by participating in international work placements, increase their chances of successfull entering and functioning in both the local and international labour market. The decision to implement the project 'International mobility of students of ZST in Strzyżów as a way of their professional and personal development' was a response to the needs of students and graduates to acquire and broaden their professional, social and language skills, which are required by Polish and European employers. The experience of working in an international environment, getting to know one's professional sector better, the opportunity to apply modern technologies, tools and production methods, as well as the development of language skills through contact with employees and customers, overcoming language barriers, are just some of the results that would be difficult or impossible to achieve in a standard school setting and in the local labour market. Therefore, considering the personal and professional growth of students and graduates, ZST has decided to continue and broaden the scope of cooperation with foreign entities within the Erasmus+ programme.
