In 2012 and 2014, as part of "Leonardo da Vinci" programme, two EU projects in the Vocational Education and Training sector were implemented by Zespół Szkół Budowlanych i Ogólnokształcących in Biłgoraj. Having experienced many benefits from the implementation of these projects, we decided to resume activities in this area. As a priority for us, the organization of apprenticeships has been established for professions in which our school educates: construction technician, bricklayer-plasterer, drywall fitter of buildings and finishing works in construction, roofer. We assumed that thanks to the internships in Germany, students will have the opportunity an develop not only selected professional competences, but also social, methodological, personal and intercultural competences, including language competences, especially in the field of technical construction vocabulary. They will also have a chance to learn about the culture and customs of Germany and attractions of Brandenburg and Berlin. The international project is a great experience for our school and an opportunity to establish contact with the Training Centre in Frankfurt (Oder) for the coming years. The implementation of the project will also increase the prestige of the school, and its development in the field of organizing foreign internships for students will encourage them to study in the technical and industry vocational school of the 1st and 2nd grade, in construction professions that place great emphasis on practical skills and experience as well as openness to Europe.
