Objectives

Above all, we wanted our young pupils to have the opportunity to do their apprenticeships abroad and experience work in an international environment, as well as test their own skills in the labour market. In addition, crucial for us was that the students of our school could experience real interculturalism and functioning in a culturally and nationally diverse society. We believe that civic education and presence the cultural differences that our students have experienced during their mobility will pay off in the future an increase in tolerance and the courage to have one's own opinion based on information verified at source and not on stereotypes. We would like our students to pass on these experiences as well. We believe that knowledge best tames the fear of the unknown. After the project is completed we also passed on our experiences and insights to friendly schools and institutions.

Background

The aim of the project was to prepare our students to enter the absorbing European labour market. Based on the diagnosed needs, the school, through the realisation of foreign mobility, supported the idea of adapting the graduate's profile to the requirements of the modern labour market. In this way, we meet a diverse reality, open to diversity. We wanted our students to understand the value of European integration and to want and be able to benefit from its advantages. The apprenticeship resulted in the transfer of knowledge acquired in vocational subjects into concrete skills. The participants practised performing activities and tasks strictly related to the position on which they will work in the future. In addition, by implementing the project we wanted our pupils to become more tolerant and open to ethnic, cultural and religious diversity. This is much more advanced in many EU countries than in many EU countries. This is much more advanced than in Poland, which is only beginning to experience changes in this area. The students of our school, who live in quite close proximity to other nations, i.e. Czechs and Germans, should set an example to the rest of society in this respect.
