During conducted mobilities, we wanted to familiarize ourselves with museum, educational, and exhibition practices conducted by staff from other institutions dedicated to film culture. Additionally, we aimed to learn how other European museum institutions create educational and exhibition offerings for seniors. We also sought to enhance the competencies of our museum staff in foreign language usage, interpersonal skills, and gain new inspirations, experiences, and knowledge in the operations of institutions with a similar profile. These mobilities aimed to increase the recognition of the Film Museum among other institutions in Europe. We hoped to establish international connections that would be maintained and developed through the implementation of joint projects in the future.
In the years 2019-2020, the Museum underwent renovations to make its premises accessible to people with disabilities. The Museum applied for funding for a project aimed at opening the new permanent exhibition. The planned activities were intended to assist in implementing the exhibition scenario and applying best practices related to the use of new technologies by seniors in the new permanent display. Seniors constitute one of the largest visitor groups in museums worldwide. Unfortunately, not all applications and multimedia stations placed in exhibitions are adapted to the needs of this audience group. The Museum wanted to address this issue and incorporate the insights gained into solutions for the new permanent exhibition "Łódź filmowa" (Film Łódź). However, due to travel restrictions imposed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the trips could only be carried out in 2022, and the new permanent exhibition was eventually opened at the end of 2021.
