The European Development Plan of the Consortium has identified development needs in the areas of: -Strengthening the competence (increase in knowledge and skills) of the staff consortium members in the use of modern technologies and teaching methods in adult education. -Change of traditional teaching methods for more creative teaching using modern technologies and innovative methods in adult learning. -Opening for international cooperation (LOWE Centres) and strengthening the European dimension and international reach. -Strengthening the expert position of the MIS Foundation in the field of non-formal education on the European scale. The project Academy of Adult Educator at LOWE aims were: - Strengthening the competences of adult teacher-educators in the use of modern technologies and methods in the process of adult learning and language competences to work in an international and multicultural team in the aspect of implemented projects. - Exchange of experiences and good practices in the field of adult education in non-formal and informal learning contexts.
The project “Academy of the Educator of Adults” was a response to a new challenge for educators of non-formal adult education - that is, quick response to changes and adaptation of teaching forms and methods to the needs and skills of adult learners. New digital technologies, widespread availability of the Internet make the Internet and various types of digital resources the most common source of searching for any information and knowledge. This trend is increasingly important in the process of lifelong learning. In adult education, it becomes important to provide attractive forms and training methods. Traditional methods of learning through listening are ineffective and, in the case of adults, do not work. The assumptions of the project were the result of cooperation of a national consortium consisting of a non-governmental organization operating in the field of adult education and 4 educational institutions at which Local Knowledge and Education Centres (LOWE) operate for the education of adults.
