The implementation of the project is the result of an initiative demonstrated by a group of young people within the informal group Mazurian Initiative. By notifying our Foundation of the project preparation initiative, they signaled that in the local environment in which they operate, there is a lack of opportunities to meet people from other cultures, traditions and nations. In today's increasingly globalized world, they see it as a potential threat to their personal development opportunities and an obstacle in finding a job that meets their aspirations. For this reason, they decided to engage in a project that would be primarily aimed at responding to this problem. Then we decided to conduct a series of meetings, as well as a video conference with a partner organization, which allowed us to jointly reflect on transforming the challenges into specific goals. Further discussions also clarified other needs that should be taken into account at the planning stage of project activities and during the exchange. In this way, the basic list of goals for the project looks like this: - meeting people raised in other cultures and belonging to another nation; - learning to work in an international team, undertaking practical challenges together; - overcoming language barriers and practical learning to use English in everyday communication; - developing personal competences in the field of communication and self-presentation, as well as increasing self-confidence and belief in one's own skills; - development of social competences and cooperation skills; - increasing competence in the preparation and conduct of international activities, as well as developing the skills to evaluate and summarize project activities; - getting to know another culture, language, traditions and customs, as well as getting to know one's own in order to present them to representatives of the second group; - developing the ability to conduct promotional activities on social media and to share the results of undertaken activities in general; In our opinion, these goals are the answer to the fundamental challenges posed by the Erasmus + program. The project will primarily be an opportunity for young people to meet peers from other countries participating in the program, establish contacts based on joint action and undertake activities developing the potential of international cooperation. Secondly, it will be a chance for project participants to develop competences that are an important element of their good start on the labor market, especially if they want to work in international enterprises or on foreign markets. Equally important, language competences acquired from participation in the project will constitute an important personal, social and professional resource, allowing for increasing the life mobility of young people involved in the future. Just getting to know other cultures should also translate into increased openness and tolerance towards representatives of other nations and cultures, increased ability to cooperate with them, as well as the desire to engage in international activities privately and professionally. Through the involvement of participants at every stage - from submitting the initiative, through participation in the preparation, implementation of the exchange and dissemination of results to evaluation and summary of activities - they will also have the opportunity to learn how to apply good models of a project approach to action and taking action on an international scale. We hope that thanks to this we will be able to instill in them the need to pursue activities striving to further develop international partnerships under the Erasmus + program and other actions with similar goals. All exchange classes will be conducted using active methods, in line with the principles of non-formal and informal education, including integration classes. Active participation in the preparation and conducting of such classes will be an opportunity for participants to learn their methodology, which may become an inspiration to conduct similar activities in their surroundings and as part of other youth initiatives. Also, the impact that participation in the exchange will have on the attitudes of young people towards other people will be in our opinion a significant impact on changing the approach to representatives of other cultures and nationalities in the local environment from which the participants originate. The implementation of the exchange is also an element that is part of the wider activities of our organizations and as such aims to increase our competences and capabilities in the area of activities aimed at deepening international cooperation and creating a platform for cooperation for young people from different countries. We hope to conduct such activities in an increasingly professional manner and increase the scale of our projects, which will contribute to the overall development of European programs.
