Objectives

Our project had three main goals: 1. Increasing young people's chances of finding a job by developing awareness and skills of working in a group. 2. Increasing the knowledge about the culture of the participating countries among the local communities of our regions. 3. Building a network of cooperation between institutions working with young people in the field of culture. When we established a partnership and worked on the concept of the project, one element came to the fore, which is common to each of our organizations - we bring together people who combine work with passion in the form of dance on a daily basis. So we decided to use this difficult combination and build our project on the edge of both these areas - the labor market and culture. Hence, our overall goals are to increase young people's chances of finding employment and intercultural exchange. In the first issue, our research showed that one of the most sought-after skills on the labor market is the ability to work in a group. As people associated with folklore and folk groups, for most of our lives we felt that we could contribute a lot in this matter. Additionally, dance could be a convenient tool for our activities. In dance, you can also work in a large group, building a choreographic image together on stage or focus on cooperation in a couple, where good contact between partners is the most important. Neither in either case can you forget about your individual expression and work on yourself. So we decided that this has an exceptionally good translation on all aspects of group work and, using our experience, we can bring forward the most important issues related to the development of awareness in this area to our target audience - young people. We did not assume that we would discover something new in a subject that had already been thoroughly researched, but we believed that we were able to summarize the most important issues in an accessible way, additionally relying on our own conclusions resulting from project activities. We believe that we have achieved this by preparing the information brochure. In the second matter, we wanted to share what is closest to us among the participants of the project - our culture and dance. The exchange of experiences that took place during numerous project activities as well as work on dances based on national and traditional dances of our countries resulted in a much better understanding of our cultures. We were also able to share our impressions through recorded video materials with our local communities. Additionally, by cooperating in the difficult time of the pandemic, we had a chance to overcome difficulties of various kinds to finally bring our joint project to an end. It has taught us a lot and has certainly increased the potential for future cooperation.
