This project is a follow-up to our previous youth exchange projects related to folk culture. We noticed the need of young people, that they want to have further meetings with other young people who are interested in exploring their roots and European folklore. The young people from our previous projects are very keen to continue this work, so we decided to apply for another exchange on this topic. In order to increase the international dimension of our project, we decided to invite groups from Bulgaria, Spain and Greece, so we have groups of young people from 5 different European countries. The main aim of the project is to promote folk culture among young people and in our local communities. We intend to achieve this goal by organizing youth exchanges from 5 European countries: Poland, Romania, Greece, Bulgaria and Spain in Tomaszów Lubelski in September 2020. The specific objectives of the project are: - Talking about folklore and exchanging experiences in an interesting, interactive way, - Promotion of peer education as an invaluable source of knowledge about European folklore, - Practical use of what we talked about - i.e. inclusion of the local community, promotion of folklore in an engaging, interesting, innovative way, not as another, one of many stands with handicrafts or souvenirs - Active promotion of folklore - not only as an artist - a spectator who becomes a passive recipient during a concert but as something common, in which the spectator can participate, touch, which he can consider as his own - Reflection on commitment, respect, kindness - during the previous exchange, the theme of various types of festivals and folklore competitions and the atmosphere of competition, understood in a negative sense, and even hostility of one band to another often appeared. By presenting common choreographies with elements of steps from all our countries participating in the exchange, as well as by preparing dance animations and a performance for the inhabitants of Tomaszów Lubelski we want to show that it is possible to create an atmosphere that is friendly, respectful and open to diversity. We want such an attitude to be instilled among our participants and our audience, who will be able to promote it in the future in subsequent competitions, festivals and local events. - Presenting ourselves to a larger audience with the result - in the previous exchange we performed for the charges of the Child and Family Support Centre in Zakopane. For many of us it was an unforgettable and unique experience, some of us said that because of the audience it was the most important concert in their lives. Unfortunately, we regretted that the venue conditions did not allow us to fully present the material we had worked out and some of us were really disappointed with this fact (despite the general feeling that the performance was very successful). That's why now we want to take advantage of the opportunity offered by the exchange organisation in the town where our young people come from to present the choreography to a wider audience on stage. The contact with and involvement of the spectator will be facilitated by the time we have planned for the dance animations.
