We live in rush lives in which human relationships often stop on the surface and people are used to hide their vulnerability and real feelings. It is important to mention though that vulnerability is an inseparable element of humanity and we can be truly ourselves and maintain meaningful relationships only when being honest through vulnerability. We noticed that there is a high need to create opportunities for youngsters to talk about deep issues and personal experience and emotions with the others. Many of young people don't have a chance to express their real feelings due to the fear of being rejected by their peers as well as not having a safe environment to be themselves. There is a need to create a safe and friendly environment in which participants could open up and share their story with the others, without a fear of being judged. Non-formal education methods used in 'YOU(th), express UP! youth exchange where a team of this project met, created an integrated and cooperative group of youngsters who decided to prepare a project about emotional expression: EXPRESSure. The coming youth exchange will enable them to create a proper environment for intra and inter-personal emotional experience of young participants. By trying to find the solutions to the problem found, we have built the objectives of the project. During 7 months of the project, 25 young people will: 1. increase their knowledge about introspection, mindfulness, emotions and vulnerability 2. learn techniques helping them to discover and become better in introspection (for understanding their own feelings and needs), mindfulness, expressing emotions and nonviolent communication. They will be eager to apply these skills in their everyday life 3. change their attitude for more active and involved in taking care about process of introspection and expressing feelings. They will be aware of emotions and the meaning of vulnerability, will want to express themselves in order to cope with feelings, they will be eager to use empathic communication. They will also be eager to talk about important, also personal subjects in order to deepen relationships with others. Through achieving these goals we will fulfill the objectives of Erasmus+ programme: increasing self-empowerment and self-esteem of participants, by encouraging them to express and talk about important issues, more active participation in society – one of our activities will be conducted in local community in order to show the opportunities and profits from being actively involved in social life. Another outcome we will have is improving the level of key competences and soft skills of young people, including those with fewer opportunities – we will work both on personal (as introspection, resistance to social pressure) and social skills (communication, smart expression). Also, we will promote intercultural dialogue by working in international teams as well as conducting a team project in local community.
