The aim of the project was to prepare and activate young OHP participants to work together with young people with disabilities. The project aimed to include students with disabilities in the life of a peer group on the basis of equal rights and obligations through non-formal education. Joint integration, activities, learning young from young resulted in joint activities, tolerance, recognition of differences and cooperation without any difficulties. The main aim of our project was to show that people are different, not all of them are fully able-bodied, but this does not mean that they are inferior to non-disabled people. We believe that we have succeeded in creating a sense of friendliness towards people with disabilities, and have learnt to tolerate others who are different from us in appearance or behaviour. Our project was a reaction to encountering instances of bad behaviour towards young people with disabilities. Through the project, we wanted to learn caring, cooperation, tolerance, acceptance, openness to others, independence and the proper development of social attitudes. We wanted young people with disabilities to develop independence, to acquire new social skills, to learn by observing young people without disabilities, to gain new motivation for learning, to be more communicative and more willing to interact with others. We wanted to provide them with being in a natural environment without feeling isolated. We wanted to show young people with disabilities that they could participate in activities without their parents/guardians away from home. We expected to change attitudes and inappropriate behaviour among our peers towards young people with disabilities.
