Lack of opportunities, unemployment, difficult access to education and the uncertain future - push people to migrate. Young people from the areas of frozen armed conflicts in Donbass, Nagorno-Karabakh or Abkhazia often look for a better life in the countries of the European Union. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aids estimates that 2.7 million people in the east of Ukraine need assistance. The project "Youth for peace" aims to strengthen youth workers and organizations supporting integration and the social animation of residents of post-conflict zones, internally displaced persons and migrants. Thanks to the skills and knowledge acquired during the training, the quality of youth work will improve, which may help to reduce migration, support the process of integration and in the long run influence the conflicts resolution. The project will also strengthen cooperation between organizations from the European Union and Eastern Partnership countries. The 10-day training will take place in Sloviansk, a city in eastern Ukraine experienced by the armed conflict in 2014. Today city gives a shelter for many internally displaced persons. An additional goal is to support the Center Drukarnia operating in the city, it is an institution that creates educational and cultural offer for young people and promotes active citizenship.
