The youth exchange “Step two – Think Green” was the second part of the previous organized youth exchange “Think Green”. The first YE was implemented in 2019 and during the project participants had a session “my future project” when they came up with the ideas to organize another YE with the same topic. The second YE “Step two – Think Green” was implemented in Georgia, in the town called Kobuleti from 23rd of March to 1st of April 2022. The project aimed to promote environmental inclusion and building networks among youth from different countries thanks to YE. Additionally, the aim was to encourage youth on how to prevent pollution and spread the information about environmental problems to the local community. The networking was one of the most efficient processes that one organization or a person had to be involved in if they would like to achieve and change something. The focus of this intercultural exchange was to work together as a group and raise the awareness of this problem first between peers and participants of the project and afterwards to our local societies. The specific objectives of the projects were: - to make awareness of youth about pollution and to spread the information among youth how to prevent it; - to share opinions, approaches, experience and examples of good and bad practices by methods of non-formal education and learning from each other in order to find ways how to solve environmental problems in each countries; - to provide participants with the necessary skills, knowledge and attitudes on inclusion of young people in activities which are connected to environmental issues; - to promote healthy lifestyle activities for young people, in terms of environmental protection; - to raise awareness about recycling through artistic activities and workshops among young people; - to increase the awareness about environmental pollution and its effect on our health; - to empower young people in active citizenship taking responsibility in their countries and participating in decision-making process regarding the protection of the environment; - to give young people an example of cooperation on the international level and encourage them to undertake similar activities in the future. Moreover, the main purpose of the project was to bring together youth from EU and non EU countries to exchange knowledge about environmental problems in their home countries and share ideas how to protect our nature, our health and reduce pollution by recycling, also how to convert waste materials into new products to prevent waste of potentially useful materials, reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials, reduce energy usage, reduce air pollution and water pollution.
