The idea of the project "Colours of diversity - Share your story!" has been created by young volunteers of Youth Human Impact and their international friends because of wish of getting to know different cultures and passion to media. In Poland, we experience a lack of opportunities to intercultural integration because of small amount of migrants. However, we notice changes in process of migration in the world. We are very open to discover new attitudes and we want to share our traditions and mentality with the others as well. We plan to engage people of different nations and religions. As the main way how to do it, we chose storytelling. We want to create a space to express our experiences and interior feelings by face-to-face contacts, media, film and theatre. Together with partners from Georgia, Bulgaria, Italy, Israel and Jordan, we strongly believe that it will be amazing opportunity to get to know each other, create intercultural friendship and get rid of harmful stereotypes. For all partners it will be also a big chance to cooperate with local societies and institutions to implement effects of youth exchange. Goals of the project: to promote intercultural and interreligious dialogue to raise awareness of youths about different cultures, religions, traditions and mentalities to pay attention to storytelling, its role in intercultural dialogue and the ways how to create it efficiently to create series of short movies on intercultural and interreligious issues to acquaint local societies with cultural diversity and heritage of the world to encourage participants and show the way how to express yourself in media, theatre and film to enrich the knowledge about the terms: stereotype, prejudice, critical thinking, migrant, refugee, tolerance and acceptance.
