"Game On: Gamified Language Learning On A Strictly Inclusive Basis" aims to support 30 youth workers, educators and youth trainers from the EU programme countries (Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, and Spain) in the development of their digital and analogue skills and the bettering of the games, activities, and methodologies put into use when working with youths; oriented towards a better manner for teaching language and awareness of interculturality with all disadvantaged groups in society. Games are fundamentally a storytelling medium; creating a “magic circle” where participants accept a new reality with artificial rules and stories. It is through accepting this artificial setting and situation, and playing along, that lives can be changed. It is in this way that games are a strong tool for bringing youth together and empowering them to tackle serious topics; sometimes even outside of the scope of the game itself. This is why we believe that learning to gamify aspects of (formal and non-formal) educational activities in everyday life through a better understanding of narratives and game design can lead to enjoyable and educational methods of lifelong learning! The main objective of the project is to involve youths and youth workers from different backgrounds and social-strata in the development and creation of different games, activities, and tools in order to not only empower them through the scope of the process of creation, but also in contributing to the educational processes of other youths, thereby creating sustainable avenues of lateral empowerment amongst youngsters. The specific objectives of “Game On” are: - To create an environment aimed at developing, experimenting, creating, and sharing innovative games, methodologies, stories, and tools for other youths, with specific attention to the inclusion and integration processes of young refugees and migrants in the local communities and in the youth organisations - To explore the use of different digital and analogue tools in the development and creation of educational games and activities that promote youth empowerment and the sharing of European values - To contribute to the professional and personal development and to improve the competences of youth workers and educators of partner organisations, providing tools, knowledge and skills useful to face the need for intercultural dialogue among young people and their communities - To contribute to improve quality in youth work, at the local and European level, keeping into consideration the changes and challenges of today’s society as for the inclusion and integration of young people with different cultural backgrounds - To contribute in fighting radicalisation and xenophobia among young Europeans and local communities, providing opportunities of intercultural dialogue through real and true encounters - To empower youth workers to become active multipliers able to improve their local working and living environments, raising social awareness towards true interculturalism in society and above all in the youth sector. - To engage and empower disadvantaged youth, specifically young migrants/refugees and youth from cultural and ethnic minorities, giving them the opportunity to bring positive change in their communities
