Our 7-day long youth project "National identity in times globalization" will gather 42 young people from Poland, Italy, Lithuania, Czech, Turkey, Greece in the beautiful city of Murzasichle between 05 - 12 July 2020. We will discuss issues related to the many facets of identity and especially global and national identity. During our project, we will discuss possible reforms of educational systems that would better prepare our societies for the intensifying globalization and make our societies more inclusive and tolerant. We will also discuss how to enhance national bonds, care for tradition and respect for history without antagonizing one country with the others. Our friends from both our organization and partner organizations emphasize that they want to strengthen bonds with their traditions, culture, and history, but they do not want this goal to be achieved at the expense of worsening relations with other nations. They acknowledge the beauty of other traditions, culture and contribution to the development of humankind by other civilizations than just the "western" one. We will also discuss the other, more mundane forms of "identities" such as identities driven by the growing professionalization (doctors, lawyers, accountants, IT specialists etc.). The goals of our projects are: The main goals of the project: · Knowing and understanding the fundamental, universal values that should form the basis of globalization (human rights, civil rights) · Understanding national identity in the context of the growing diversity of many European countries · How to create a platform within a given country to talk about universal values such as clean environment, fight against poverty, fight for human rights over · How to reform educational systems to open them a little more to the achievements of foreign cultures and civilizations In addition, it is our goal to increase the general skills and competencies of our participants. These are related to language skills (English), critical thinking skills, teamwork, awareness of differences between cultures, etc.
