To change this situation, we have developed a project whose main goal is to increase students' motivation to develop knowledge and improve professional skills, acquire new professional skills, improve language skills - mainly English, increasing the mobility of participants, increasing their chances on the European and national labor market, increasingself-esteem, developing intercultural competences, increasing the quality and attractiveness of vocational education at school and in the region, preventing early school leaving and fighting failure in education, as well as promoting openness and knowledge about other cultures and religions.
The project was supposed to be a continuation and supplementation of the assumptions of the implemented mobility projects in the Erasmus + program.The school's participation in projects is a response to the problem that arose in the school: poor enrollment in school, poor academic performance, and, consequently, poor results of vocational and secondary school-leaving examinations. As a result, fewer students continue their education after upper secondary school, and not even all of them take the above-mentioned exams. After examining the problem, actions were taken on many levels, but an in-depth analysis in the form of interviews and questionnaires showed that the main cause of failure is the students' lack of motivation to learn, lack of faith in their abilities and lack of future prospects. An additional problem is the trend in our region, thegreater popularity of general education over vocational education among primary school youth. In recent years, we have also noticed an increase in attitudes expressing the lack of tolerance towards other cultures and religions, which is best eliminated through direct contact and our own experienc.
