An important element was to deepen the practical skills of our students in the professions and fields of study they chose at the beginning of their journey in vocational education. We also wanted to improve their language skills (not only in terms of technical and professional vocabulary, but also in terms of communicating in everyday life). We wanted to arouse passion and interest in the chosen profile and in their future profession. We provided opportunities to learn about the technical background, functioning and forms of organization of a foreign company. We supported students’ motivation to finish school and go further with their chosen career path. We also wanted to improve the quality and effectiveness of education by involving teaching staff in the organization, implementation and evaluation of the project. The basic thing for us was personal development of the participants as people and as employees who aspire to be able to work in companies and establishments at a European level, opportunities to test themselves, their skills: quick decision-making, independence, tolerance and ability to work in a group and making personal and professional contacts. We aimed to increase results in examinations
The project is important for our school as a continuation of the facility’s work in vocational training, and therefore the most important aspect of education in a technical school. Each new trip is a very important event in the life of the whole school community: students, teachers and parents who send their children on a month-long placement abroad. The implementation of projects is already, so to speak, part of our school working plan, improving the quality of the vocational training (primarily the practical side) placing our school in a leading position among technical schools which organize such trips for students, graduates and teaching staff. The aspect of continuing internship trips was therefore important to us, so that the school does not lose the strategic point of encouraging eighth-grade graduates who are extremely interested in the possibility of an internship abroad during the open days which are organized in our school every year. We were also motivated to apply for further funding by a support organization in Spain – our long-standing and trustworthy partner for such trips.
