Background

Eurostat research has shown that more and more students in the EU are not able to face challenges, problems and function well in a changing reality. This applies to every aspect of life - private, social and professional. More and more young people experience negative emotions, inner pain and emptiness that they cannot overcome. In addition, according to the 4th European Working Conditions Survey, work-related stress and the inability to cope with it is a growing problem for employees and employers in EU. Based on the statistics presented by the European Commission, the benefits of organizing programs related to the development of emotional and social competences in schools bring satisfactionary results. First of all, education focused on the development of emotional and social competences allows you to achieve a certain level of education, as it increases teaching opportunities and the impact of the school on children. Secondly, new educational programs are aimed at both health promotion and prevention of social threats (such as violence, aggression, addictions). Realizing that the introduction of emotional education issues in schools on a large scale is the first step in improving the school of the 21st century.
