Project summary

This project will be in line with the European Green Deal postulates focusing especially on topics of circular economy and sustainable solutions. The project Consortium will be taking the topics a step further, transforming opportunities into solutions. Different skills and competencies should be developed and mindsets changed. People no matter their workplace should be prepared to understand the disruptive changes around them. The circular economy is an enormous challenge for developing and emerging countries, in terms of capabilities to ensure efficient treatment of waste, the responsibility over social behaviours. Moreover, what can be observed across the EU, is the struggle of municipals over waste management, which is no longer the management of municipal waste, but also industrial waste. The aim of the project: to strengthen the quality of start-uppers, young entrepreneurs and VET providers and enhance their professional development through improving environmental change competences as well as give them opportunity to validate these competences and adapt VET provision. In “European employment strategy” strong support for entrepreneurs and the self-employed is given through jobs creation, skills development and giving the opportunity for people to fully participate in society and the economy. Through this project we want to directly help enterprising, active people to develop their professional competences, and – indirectly – to provide the whole startups sectors with specific knowledge. Experiences with startuppers are commonly analysed not on local or regional level but across countries, because those firms operates in specific, mostly high-tech sectors and their scope of activity is often transitional. That is the first reason, why this project should be done within transnational partnership. The second one is the experience and background of entities involved in the project (related with start-ups support or collaboration with), which have to be joined to get synergy effect. Output 1 will be led by RARR in terms of coordination of works related to the creation of Curriculum scope. Output 2 will be led by Danmar in terms of coordination of works related to the creation of functionalities and programming and additional with methodological assistance from the UM. Each partner will be responsible involved in the creation of content Training digital materials, which will be divided into 6 thematic parts: Each part will be coordinated by another partner: Part1 – Ways of transition to natural energy and combating climate change - RARR Part 2 – Towards biodiversity and ecological transformation of companies -CETEM Part 3 – Plastic waste management in your SME - Mindshift Part 4 – Redesigning products and services to minimise the use of materials - Danmar Part 5 – Circular businesses models - THIC Part 6 - Life cycle thinking – UM Partners come from a variety of geographical and professional backgrounds to ensure the successful implementation of this multi-level project. Specifically, the consortium creates synergy of partners from Development Agency (RARR), technical university (UM), Technical institute (TIHC), NGO and umbrella organization (CETEM), and SMEs (DANMAR, Mindshift).

Objectives

The intention of the consortium was: - the desire to directly help enterprising, active people in developing their professional competences, and indirectly – to provide specific knowledge to the entire start-up sector in Europe. Experience with start-ups is commonly analysed not at the local or regional level, but at the supranational level, as these companies operate mainly in high-tech sectors and their scope of activity is often transitional. Therefore, it was very important that the project was implemented within the framework of a transnational partnership. The second is the experience and background of entities involved in the project (related to support or cooperation with start-ups), which by implementing the project together could achieve a synergy effect. - creating innovative, tailor-made, up-to-date tools providing knowledge on topics related to digital entrepreneurship and the circular economy and sustainable solutions. The created tools (program, materials, application), addressed to start-ups, young entrepreneurs, VET teachers from the partner countries of the project, were aimed at improving the quality of their professional development, acquiring new skills and digital competences and verifying the acquired knowledge.

Background

The Environmental change project was in line with the demands of the European Green Deal, focusing in particular on the circular economy and sustainable solutions. The need to develop different skills and competences and to change the way of thinking should be stressed. People, no matter where they work, should be prepared to understand the destructive changes in the environment around them. The circular economy is a huge challenge for developing and emerging countries in terms of their ability to ensure efficient waste treatment or responsibility for social behavior. In addition, across the EU, municipalities are fighting for waste management, which is no longer municipal waste management, but also industrial waste management. The project was a response to the needs identified by the consortium. It focused on strengthening the quality of start-ups, young entrepreneurs and VET providers and strengthening their professional development by improving their competences in the field of environmental change, as well as enabling them to validate these competences and adapt their VET offer accordingly.
