Background

In our study of cultural development in the Podlaskie and Lubelskie regions, we noted that the number of cultural initiatives has decreased, especially in rural regions. We noticed that there is a lack of modern, long-term tools, methods, models for the acquisition and improvement of social competences - of the inhabitants. At the same time, there is a lack of planning tools for the development of their municipalities through culture and education, which will ensure that the inhabitants continue to be active. Our aim was to give rural areas new functions, animating social and cultural life. The project responded to the need to support local social development, education through cultural heritage, culture, economy, environment and safety including health. The participation of two foreign partners (Spain, Belgium) guaranteed a broad presentation of solutions operating in the partner country, (culture vesus revitalisation), tested within the EU.
