Final report summary

The project 'Bad eating habits out, doing sports In' was based on the cooperation of five countries: Poland, Slovenia, Turkey, Greece and Italy. It provided participants with the opportunity to develop a wide range of social, health and educational competences, digital and language skills. The main aim of the project was to educate students about healthy lifestyles and provide real-life examples of these. Sport and a healthy diet should be an indispensable part of everyone's life. In particular, it is important that young people who lose themselves in the world of computers and often isolate themselves from the world understand this. The project work and tasks were designed to make our students aware of the importance of balance and the relationship between physical and mental health, to motivate them to take action and take responsibility for their health and mental well-being. Motivated to be active, the pupils further passed on the knowledge to their families, friends and thus the project influenced a wider community than just the school one. The project meetings addressed and implemented the main objectives of the project, however, each meeting focused on a different aspect of the project. In Turkey, the theme was: , "Eco-friendly lifestyle". During the meeting, presentations were given on the impact of a healthy lifestyle on a person's well-being and promoting local environmental initiatives. This followed on from the previous two online meetings, during which students were introduced to the details of the project through various activities. During the meeting in Italy, we explored the theme of 'Healthy food'. The tangible results were presentations entitled "Do we live in a healthy and sustainable society?" and a discussion which tried to answer this question. Through the exhibition "Medical herbs", participants demonstrated the medicinal value of plants and herbs that grow around us. In Slovenia, the emphasis was on showing the impact of physical activity on the human mind and intellect. Theoretically, we were introduced to the topic by a specialist at a seminar, making participants aware of the principles of the Slovenian SLOFIT programme. Practically, the topic was pursued through field games, sports competitions, mountain climbing and many other physical activities. It was summarised by presentations entitled,,, Healthy habits and lifestyles." In Poland, the aim of the meeting was to highlight how nature affects our well-being and what benefits we can derive from nature. The meeting made young people aware of how much we get from the world of animals and plants. Participants took part in a cooking workshop, during which they conjured up dishes that were both tasty and healthy. The nutritionists leading the workshop showed the young people what a so-called healthy plate looks like. Presentations entitled, "Natural values and benefits to people" made us aware and reminded us how much we benefit from our environment (salt caves, thermal waters), what we gain from animals (hippotherapy, dogover therapy), and also presented the benefits of an eco-farm. The theme of the meeting in Greece was: ,,Compliance and peace". All project activities were designed to make participants aware that their physical health is as important as their mental state. Therefore, for the sake of balance and health, we should take care of both body and spirit. The seminar entitled, "Reading prosperity" attempted to answer questions about how reading affects our mind and what its benefits are. Practical results included the presentation of recipes for natural masks, scrubs and hair conditioners by all countries, describing their composition and properties. Lessons in English, geography and physical education, as well as art workshops during which an Eco dictionary, posters and comic strips were created, were very important elements in the project. They were an opportunity to integrate, improve teamwork and make friends. Teachers had the opportunity to learn about the organisation of the education system and methods of working in education in other countries, which contributed, among other things, to the enrichment of their work and an increase in the quality of education in schools.
