A self-assessment carried out at the School identified strengths (qualified teaching staff, committed to continuous training and process renewal) and weaknesses (accentuated aging of the teaching population and the need to create didactic and pedagogical conditions for a better understanding and approximation to the universe of students). It defined the creation of conditions for the participation of its staff in international initiatives/programs/projects that promote its ideals and values, Mission and educational goals. It was intended to enable participants to attend courses that involved not only their area of training and intervention, but also the integration of new technologies and teaching methodologies. In this way, a search was made and a prior selection of some structured courses that suited the perspective, as well as the profile of the possible participants. The main purpose was to invest in creativity and innovation by reinforcing the methodological components that integrate new technologies and teaching methodologies. An effort was made to raise awareness of the importance of the European dimension of education and of an internationalization strategy from Jaime Moniz Secondary School.
