Objectives

1. Improve the professional and cooperation skills of the participants and the rest of the teaching staff of Agrupamento de Escolas de Canelas (AEC): 2. Improve participants' professional skills in responding to students' individual needs and dealing with heterogeneous groups of students; 3. Increase the number of lessons taught using new methodologies and approaches in all subject areas, not only by the participants, but also by other teachers after the mobilities: 4. Increase the use of online collaboration tools internally and externally. 5. Internationalise the AEC, giving a European dimension to teaching and learning, improving the intercultural and linguistic skills of the school community following the project's activities: preparation, participation and dissemination.

Background

The project was the result of analysing the needs of the Canelas School Group, as expressed in its Educational Project and European Development Plan, and of reflections at departmental and subject group level. From this analysis and reflection, the following teaching staff needs were identified: 1) the appropriation of strategies and collaborative work between peers; 2) knowledge of collaborative tools; 3) the acquisition of new methodologies to apply in the classroom that are more motivating and capable of involving students more in the various stages of the teaching and learning process; The educational project identified constraints at the institution level, such as: 1) academic results below expectations, forcing the implementation of actions to improve teaching practices; 2) the need to implement collaborative working practices between teachers; 3) the existence of traditional teaching practices that are not very stimulating for students; For all these reasons, it was decided to formalise the application for this project, as it was deemed necessary to guarantee greater scientific and pedagogical-didactic quality for teachers and to increase collective motivation in the teaching-learning process.
