Objectives

During the implementation period of this project, whose start was postponed due to the Covid 19 pandemic situation, the paradigm of our school changed significantly. We stopped being a non-grouped school to become a Grouping with the added responsibility of being the host school. A Provisional Administrative Commission (CAP) was introduced that steered the cluster during the second year of this project. The guidelines were maintained because the president of CAP, and current director, has always been part of the Erasmus+ management team. Despite the fact that this project belongs to Ferreira Dias, a non-grouped school, there were changes that began to involve, in many Erasmus activities, other organic units of the grouping. Objectives related to the digital transition, implementation of a philosophy of an open, inclusive school, available for change, active, dynamic and with a solid commitment to reversing a trajectory of increasing failure, have become broader challenges and of greater responsibility. What we wanted, we continue to want, because the dynamic continues to be change, and the improvement of a structure that has weaknesses. We intend to be an institution with solid European values of education.

Background

This project continues the internationalization of the Ferreira Dias Secondary School (ESFD), started in 2016 in Erasmus+. Its guiding document is the European Development Plan (PDE) approved by the Pedagogical Council and is fundamental for updating, improving and deepening the professional skills of the educational community. It is intended that the ESFD, based on a culture of quality, stand out for the responses it provides to the needs of its human resources and students. It defines its action, based on the following pillars: -Internationalization of the school and development of a culture centered on European values. -Development of actions that allow the acquisition of competences centered on teaching and non-teaching staff and the acquisition of competences centered on students and for students. The ESFD defines as priorities: -Development of language skills; -Implementation of digital technology in the teaching process; -Development of management and leadership skills; -Combating failure and school dropout and improving success; -Incentive to literacy; -Valuing an inclusive education system; -Commitment to Environmental Education and Sustainability.
