In accordance with the European Development Plan, we aimed to: develop professional skills and improve the quality of organizations and the levels of motivation, involvement and satisfaction of the educational community by providing quality training in a European context; to know experiences of inclusive and equitable school management, at different levels of intervention; share knowledge and experiences of policies and practices of inclusion and equity in education, in the regional, local and organisational dimensions; know innovative fundamentals and practices at an international level; strengthen leadership and enable the construction of a school identity matrix; reflect, discuss, decide and act in different fields of action, regarding the foundations and innovative practices that aim to succeed in the face of the uncertainties and rapid changes of our time; enhance collaborative and networking work in the adoption and dissemination of new flexible pedagogical and curriculum management practices, establishing partnerships between international institutions and developing the spirit of European citizenship and identity through networks of contacts and channels of Europe-wide communication.
The application for this project was based on three guiding axes: the strengthening of equity and inclusion; the modernization/innovation of pedagogical practices and tools and the internationalization of organizations. Since it would be implemented in an outermost region, this project proposed to create a unique opportunity for the modernization and innovation of personal, professional, institutional and interinstitutional practices. Therefore, we believed that it would be pertinent to promote the creation and/or promotion of networks of contacts and partnerships between international institutions and the Consortium Edu4Col@b strengthening European citizenship and identity. We also intended to increase collaborative work between institutions, between top and middle management in schools and between teachers and students. In this process, we wanted to involve educational leadership and management structures, as decision-makers and influencers, with a view to shared and international reflection of innovative experiences and strategies developed at local level. We considered all these aspects fundamental to add quality to the profile of those responsible and actors in the education system and to boost teaching and learning.
