Objectives

- Knowing diversified methods of assessment adapted to foreign students. - Explore new methodologies to overcome the immigrant student's native language barrier. - Understand new intercultural communication techniques that allow to interact and respect the student's culture. - Identify signs of discrimination, implementing measures to prevent and respond to it, when necessary. - Learn techniques and methodologies for global citizenship education, which promote intercultural dialog in a sustained way, in order to, in a sustained manner, include the pupil in the class.

Background

The project ‘A School for Global Citizenship’ (2020-2022) aims to respond to the need to train a faculty capable of dealing with the multicultural richness of Real Colégio de Portugal (RCP), as a global school in the 21st century, where 86 foreign students out of a total of 358 students study. In view of the multiculturalism identified, it is necessary to train leaders and teaching staff for continuous learning on these issues, in order to respond on the spot.
