The main objectives of the Project were: a) Promote European mobility of young students and graduates from different training areas, b) To develop the acquisition of skills and knowledge that enhance the transition to working life of young professionals, c) To provide training experiences outside the country to trainees from socially and economically disadvantaged families who could not otherwise afford them, d) To foster pedagogical and professional flexibility of the participants (students and technicians), e) To develop competences through contact with culturally and linguistically different contexts, f) Foster a climate of constant search for information and improvement in working and learning methods with a view to continuous improvement; g) Strengthen existing European partnerships; h) Establish new strategic partnerships to expand the Alentejo Foundation's international cooperation network and develop new European projects.
The Alentejo Foundation / EPRAL applied to the Erasmus Programme in order to develop its Internationalisation Strategy to maintain its founding matrix, its link with the European dimension and to strengthen cooperation networks with other entities operating in the field of education and training. It is considered important to follow the developments in education and vocational training in other EU countries as they have undergone major changes over the years, particularly with regard to ICT and other digital and electronic equipment. It was considered essential that our trainees and employees could contact and experience work and learning dynamics in European business contexts to develop their professional skills and also the development of soft skills, such as communication skills, teamwork, time management, flexibility and adaptation to change, etc. these skills are increasingly valued by employers, given the transformations of the employment system at national and European level.
