Objectives

The project had the following specific objectives: to complement school education; to acquire new technical skills in its area of activity; to strengthen personal and professional enrichment and development, facilitating integration in the national and European labour market; to develop the ability to adapt to new situations; to promote proactivity and youth entrepreneurship and, through this experience, to increasingly enhance the use and dissemination of new communication and information technologies. Promoting EPHTL and Portuguese culture by sharing different experiences was and will be, a fundamental premise and one of the motivations to implement this project. With this project, we sought to promote change in the participants, the organisations, and the school. These changes are to be found in personal development, both in the promotion of an expansive autonomy with openness and greater knowledge of the European Space and in the entrepreneurial and innovative spirit. In terms of professional development, the learning and development of new practices and new working tools was an achieved goal.

Background

The European projects are a fundamental part of the school, both through the promotion of these in the Educational Project and through the permanent exhibition that our school promotes of works and photographic records of the experiences of all those who have already had the opportunity of participating in Erasmus mobility. The school believed that the project "EPHTL - We are Europe" would develop the potential of our students as well as become more and more of a reference school in the areas of tourism, hospitality, and events. EPHTL believes that to train professionals with the necessary skills the job market demands it is essential to be close to the reality of the market, either at the national or international level. This application aims to promote the acquisition of outstanding skills and to provide students with a proper interaction with an increasingly global world. If this project did not exist, our students would probably not have the possibility of having this experience, due to the limited economic condition most of our educational community presents.
