The project, "21st Century Professionals: An Adventure through Europe IV," aimed to be an incentive and motivation for learning and educational success. The goal was to offer a curricular professional internship to students who excelled in their academic journey, rewarding their effort and dedication. It involved conducting a training experience abroad in the format of "job shadowing," with the participation of vocational course teachers. The project sought to achieve three main objectives: Train the team of teachers involved in this project, enabling them to propose changes in educational practices and have the necessary conditions to implement them, both individually and collectively in their daily work, addressing school dropout and academic failure. Introduce a transnational dimension into the trainees' practices, contributing to the creation of an inclusive society and striving to ensure the existence of structures and mechanisms aimed at eliminating discrimination at all levels. Enhance the value of vocational courses, strengthen the connection between schools and businesses, and combat early dropout from the education system.
Participation in European projects has always been seen as an innovation dimension, and it has always been considered that "public service" also involves promoting and disseminating Portuguese culture and knowledge of European schools and cultures. This participation will help prevent school dropout and exclusion, and it will educate citizens capable of reshaping our society in an intelligent, sustainable, and inclusive manner, aligning with the objectives of the European Union. The opportunity to undertake internships/training in a foreign country will contribute to raising the school's profile, making it more competitive, attracting new students seeking an innovative and exemplary school with teachers who strive to stay updated and utilize new and more innovative methods. It is an added value to the participants' curriculum as they will have access to new teaching and training methods, motivating students, reducing the dropout rate, and consequently leading to educational success. It also allows for an understanding of the needs of the job market and provides candidates with the opportunity to intern in a foreign country or, in the case of teachers, to observe their peers in action.
