Objectives

With this project we want to contribute to the improvement of our services. To this end, we seek to provide our employees with learning opportunities so that they can reflect on their ways of working and keep up with new currents that can be used in the educational field. Thus, this project was based on the need for new skills for the future (as the name of the project indicates), not only technical skills, but also pedagogical and interpersonal skills, making learning richer and more motivating, improving the participation of the adult population in lifelong learning activities. ATEP intended to encourage its employees to promote their own lifelong learning, discovering new ways of working with adults. Thus, this project had as its main objective the innovation of Adult Education through: - updating technical knowledge and tools/technologies/methodologies for working with adults - knowledge about the work carried out in other countries in the field of adult education - improvement of the team's transversal, interpersonal and linguistic skills - improvement of the ability to include the most vulnerable groups in society

Background

The continuous training of Adult Education teams is essential to deal with the diversity of adults and educational contexts. So, communication skills, empathy, flexibility and proactivity are some of the transversal skills that should exist in teams to motivate and involve adults in lifelong learning. As such, it is necessary to come into contact with new approaches and pedagogical methods, valuing the journey of adults and learning in informal and non-formal contexts. It is also necessary to prepare teams to work with greater cultural diversity, as a result of migratory movements. So, we intend to provide experiences that allow: - To give credibility to Adult Education and Lifelong Learning, through the sharing of experiences and good practices with other institutions; - Better prepare teams for the diversity of adult education, through training and contact with organisations integrated in other cultural realities; - Introduce more innovative teaching methods, as a way of motivating the adult population and distanciate from traditional schooling.
