Objectives

The process of information dissemination is an integral component of the initiatives that are implemented in Europe. The process of making the results and deliverables of a project visible to the stakeholders of the project as well as the broader public is referred to as "transparency." The necessity of dissemination is referred to in the phrase "necessary for take-up, and take-up is critical for the success of the project and for the sustainability of outputs in the long term." Take-up is critical for the success of the project and for the sustainability of outputs in the long term. In turn, take-up is extremely important to the overall success of the initiative. Through the process of dissemination, European partnerships have the potential to inform European citizens on all levels about the ways in which the European Commission is promoting innovation, employability, education, and impact in order to accomplish the objectives of a smart and sustainable European Union. Background

Social EU desired to create and test an innovative training strategy and methodology for EU project managers on how to optimally use social media to reach a larger and more diversified audience with their project. The goal of the project was to provide EU project managers, specifically those working on Strategic Partnership KA2 Erasmus +, with the competencies and abilities necessary to make effective use of social media platforms, both as tools and as channels, for communication on EU projects. People managing European projects need to have the relevant skills to use social media, as it is currently the most powerful instrument to disseminate information, promote events, and publicize opportunities. Since social media are so important to the success of European projects, people managing these initiatives should have these skills. European projects are not widely disseminated through social networks. If the target to reach is the community of peers, the message needs to be scientific and academic; if the target to reach is the wider public of EU citizens, the message needs to be easy to understand and interactive.
