Since AMC, through CJ Amarante, is a clear factor of change in the region and, in a way, an entity that leads, causes and encourages young people in its community to be more active, innovative and responsible for their decisions, TRANSITION ends up to emerge as a clear challenge to think and multiply in the present an idea of the future, in which we believe that the transition movements will have a fundamental role in preparing the basic conditions for this change: in paradigm, in lifestyles, in consumption, in the relationship with us and with the environment that surrounds us. The principle of transition is to help us to be catalytic elements in our community for an historic action that will make the place where we live more resilient, healthy and with strong local livelihoods, while reducing our ecological footprint. This training course aims to bring this new development tool to the agenda of local communities, especially young people, allowing them to learn and consolidate information and arguments necessary to open horizons and multiply on their return to their different communities of origin. Finally, it is important to underline that the theme of this project fits into our line of action and strategy (2014-2020) demonstrating that AMC pursues a dream of transforming the Amarante region and all its local and international partners day after day into agents of the change based on values that we consider essential: sustainability, respect, justice and dignity.
